Scott, affectionately called Stoats by the students, has been with The College School since 2017, where he served as a Fifth Grade teacher before moving into the Middle School where he taught Sixth Grade Math, Field Ecology, Biology, Stewardship, and Mapping. Before The College School, Scott served as the Expedition Coordinator at Maplewood Richmond Heights Middle School as well as developing an experiential, outdoor-based science curriculum for the upper division at Chesterfield Day School that incorporated weeklong camping, canoeing, and rock-climbing expeditions in the Smokies, the Ozarks, and Wisconsin. Scott’s passion is developing unique and creative outdoor experiences and expeditions that dovetail with specific academic content being taught in the classroom. He is a National Board Certified Middle School Science teacher, three-time Teacher of the Year, and served for eight years on the Board of Directors for the Experiential Education Exchange.
