As an independent school, The College School is able to develop a program free from the public mandates for curriculum and testing. Since we do not receive federal funding, we rely on tuition and charitable gifts to ensure that TCS remains the progressive, forward-thinking school that we are known to be.
Through the generosity of our current and alumni families, grandparents, alumni, corporate partners and friends we are able to fund projects from new facilities to professional development, and from operating expenses to financial aid.
There are many ways your gift can support The College School
Annual Fund
At The College School, our most important fundraising campaign is the Annual Fund.
Annual Fund gifts provide vital, unrestricted dollars to help pay for everything it takes to run our school: faculty salaries, books, classroom materials, computers, campus maintenance, financial aid, utilities and more. The Board of Trustees, parents, faculty and staff, grandparents, alumni, past families and friends are asked to participate on a yearly basis. Since Annual Fund gifts directly pay for what is needed to educate our students, we ask our supporters to make Annual Giving at The College School their highest giving priority.
Every gift makes a positive impact on our students and school. While the amount of money raised is critical, so too is the level of participation. We encourage all of our families to make a gift to the Annual Fund each year.
Fundraising Events
Fundraising events are a great way to raise funds for the school while having a great time! Each year The College School hosts an event that directly supports the school and its mission.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Matching Gifts are offered by many employers. Some even double or triple employees’ charitable contributions. Check here to see if your company matches or contact your employer’s human resources department to see if your company participates in a matching gift program.
Planned Giving
Planned giving is a program for donors to make a contribution to The College School through various means, including but not limited to:
- Appreciated Securities
- Retirement Plans
- Life Insurance
- Real Estate and Personal Property
- Bequest through a Will or Revocable Trust
The College School is a thriving academic community. Through continued financial support, donors enable us to maintain and enhance an educational experience that will enrich our students for a lifetime. If you are interested in making a planned gift, please contact Brie Alley, Director of Development and Communications, at balley@thecollegeschool.org.
Tributes and Memorials
One of the most gratifying experiences a donor can have is making a gift in honor or memory of a loved one. The College School has always accepted gifts in honor or memory of its alumni, past parents, grandparents and friends. With this tax deductible gift, we will send a note to the family or person being honored or memorialized. These are lasting tributes to family and friends whose legacies will live on with The College School.
