Katie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, certificates in Elementary and Special Education, and has more than eight years experience in Special Education and Behavior Science. Prior to her move to St. Louis, she taught in a Kindergarten through Second Grade classroom at The Auburn School in Chantilly, Virginia, which supports children who are on the autism spectrum. While at the Auburn School, Katie co-chaired a curriculum committee to develop and map curriculum for the three Auburn campuses. During her time at The College School, Katie has been a Kindergarten and Preschool teacher and values the knowledge gained from families, fellow teachers, and children. She enjoys identifying the unique needs of each of her students and is passionate about finding strategies and techniques to accommodate different types of learners. Having grown up on a farm in St. James, MO, Katie intimately knows what it means for a child to learn, discover, and explore the out of doors.
