As Seventh Graders explore the urban landscape, they wonder together about the many different aspects of community. Students learn to use public transportation, explore neighborhoods, and interact with local residents and business owners in an effort to produce a podcast concentrating on a relevant issue. In small groups, students travel to various St. Louis neighborhoods to conduct interviews, do research, and absorb the atmosphere that makes up a city. Students use both studio days and field trips to prepare for their production of a dynamic and informative piece of audio art.
