Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Iowa State University

Lucy has experience with children both as a life skills specialist and Early Childhood educator designing developmentally appropriate activities and curricula to foster learning, community, and growth. Lucy is passionate about the Reggio Emilia approach to learning and research-based practices. Lucy’s experience working with children with disabilities has made her attuned to students and the many ways in which children communicate. Her work teaching English Language learners has shaped the way she communicates, listens, and creates space for all students in the classroom. Her prior experience equips her to create a classroom environment that is not only welcoming to children’s diverse cultural backgrounds and world views but a classroom that is continually evolving depending on the perspectives and cultural experiences children are bringing into the classroom. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast and spends her free time hiking, foraging, and camping. Lucy loves bringing her passion for the outdoors into teaching.
