Darrett began his teaching career as a paraprofessional for the Special School District of Saint Louis County, doing push-in and pull-out services with students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Darrett immediately fell in love with the upper elementary setting and supporting students academically and emotionally. After two years in a public school setting, he made the transition to Community School, where he worked with the Fifth and Sixth Grade teams, teaching language arts and social studies. He has spent the last ten years teaching at Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School (MICDS). While at MICDS, Darrett taught history and English in Sixth through Eighth Grades. Darrett has also coached middle school baseball and wrestling as well as middle school and high school soccer. He and his wife Nicole live with their three boys and two dogs in Webster Groves. As a family, they love to travel, be outdoors, play with their dogs, and spend time together watching soccer.
