Carl Pandolfi

Carl PandolfiEducation
Bachelor/Master of Music, Webster University
Master of Music Composition, Indiana University School of Music

Carl joined The College School in 2008. He brings a broad and varied musical background to The College School. A multi-instrumentalist, he comes from a family of musicians. He is a composer with performances by local orchestras. He was Composer-in-Residence for the St. Louis Public Schools and a composer/mentor for the Music! Words! Opera! program (Opera Theatre of St. Louis) during the 1990s. In addition to many prior years as a private teacher, he has taught music classes at university and elementary levels since 1998.

His passion for group music-making, however, is what guides Carl’s approach to teaching. A strong connection often happens among members of the group during music-making experiences. And since many good habits are best formed in a person while young, it is important to also allow for the practice of improvisation.

He has been a member of many groups of local musicians, as an ensemble member and a solo pianist for over 35 years.
