Julia fell in love with teaching fourth and fifth graders when she worked for two years as an environmental and outdoor educator in North Carolina, at Haw River State Park, and at The Don Lee Center. At Crossroads College Preparatory School, she received certification and training needed to be integral in the establishment of their new Maker Space. She also went through an extensive anti-racism and anti-bias yearlong training while at Crossroads. She and her husband live in Webster Groves.
