School Life
Step into our halls and you will be immediately enveloped by high quality work proudly displayed on the walls, engaged students and teachers, and individuals who are confident, creative, and passionate about their learning. The College School will soon envelope your senses. You may see parents leading a classroom project; you may hear laughter throughout the building; you may smell glass beads being fired in the art room; you may taste the pesto our first graders prepared from the basil harvested from our garden; and you may feel a new sense of excitement and magic.
That sense of excitement and magic is The College School. As a pre - 8th independent day school that believes in a thematically integrated and experiential approach to education, you are just as likely to find us out of the classroom as in the classroom. Our 7th graders could be working a job in the city for their Urban Experience class, our 2nd graders may be planting seeds in the greenhouse, our 5th graders may be catching and tagging Monarchs as part of Project Monarch, and our 6th graders could be in Jefferson City studying our state government.
Students, parents, teachers, maintenance, and staff alike are here because we love The College School. We love the energy, the community, the sense of adventure, the curiosity, and the excellence here. Our teachers are some of the best in the state, our parents are committed to partnership, and our students simply love coming to school. At The College School, we foster a natural love of learning and never forget that learning is fun and a life long adventure. A quick peak into our "School Life" should quickly reveal this. Please enjoy what you see -- I know we do!
